Pre-Departure

Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency(KDCA) will no longer require international travelers to submit a pre-departure negative COVID-19 test result for the boarding and the entry to the country starting from 00:00 September 3rd, 2022 (KST).
​However, all entering Korea from overseas still must get a PCR test within 1 day of arrival to Korea.

Upon Arrival

Take an Arrival PCR Test within 1 day of entry

All travelers are required to take a PCR test within 1 day of entry. The quarantine exemption will be revoked if you do not take the test or test positive for COVID-19.

As all travelers entering Korea are required to take a PCR test within 1 day (24 hours) of arrival, we wanted to lessen the burden as much as possible.

Accordingly, we are happy to offer a special rate for PCR tests for all our attendees and a shuttle bus to and from the test center.

On September 17 - 19, the shuttle bus service to the PCR center will be provided as complimentary and a discounted price for PCR test will be offered to all INTERSPEECH 2022 attendees.

What should I do if I tested positive for COVID19 at the arrival PCR?

If you tested positive at the arrival PCR, there will be 7 days of self-quarantine and you will be moved to the Residential Treatment Center near the venue.

You will be released from quarantine and isolation starting from the midnight (24:00) of the 7th day, and no additional PCR test is necessary.

· Principle of Reciprocity

The Korean government covers a varying level of medical expenses incurred by and therefore charged to non-Korean nationals depending on your nationality and your country’s policy for Korean nationals in the named country.

* Full support

(Scope) The named country (including the government and public institutions) fully support COVID19-related treatment expenses for overseas Koreans.

(Range of Support) Support for all treatment expenses (out-of-pocket expenses and mandatory (nonreimbursement) expenses) are fully provided.

*Conditional support

(Scope) The named country (including the government and public institutions) partially support COVID-19-related treatment expenses for overseas Koreans.

(Range of Support) COVID-19 quarantine expenses (only the hospital room fees, excluding food expenses, medical expenses, etc.)

*No support

(Scope) The named country does not provide any medical expenses coverage to Korean nationals.

(Range of Support) All expenses must be paid by the patient him- or herself.
